The prompt for this year&#8217;s contest was the following quotation from the Iranian women&#8217;s rights activist, Mahnaz Afkhami:<\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><em>&#8220;The connection between women&#8217;s human rights, gender equality, socioeconomic development, and peace is increasingly apparent.&#8221;<\/em><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">At the essay contest finals dinner on Sunday, May 6, the 10 student finalists presented their essays orally, and a distinguished panel of judges from the community chose the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. A total of $15,000 in scholarships was awarded.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">The winners of the 2018 PSR\/Sacramento High School Scholarship Contest are pictured below.
